The baptism of the Lord is a significant feast, as it really manifests what this Incarnate God is going to doing. After all the glitter and celebrations of Christmas, the baptism reminds everyone of what ACTUALLY the Lord is going to do here on earth.
... bring forth justice to the nations...As Fr Gerry stated in the Mass this morning, it is all about justice.
a light to the nations,
to open the eyes of the blind,
to bring out prisoners from confinement,
and from dungeon, those who live in darkness.
