The paradox

A heated conversation between two Catholics:

A: You said a lie. Didn't you?
B: Yes, I lied.
A: That's why I say, you're a liar! 

But didn't he just confess to have said a lie? He just said the truth by acknowledging his lie... and still he's a liar?
